"100 gold!" A rather thin and pasty man said as he raised his hand, then slammed it down on the table.
The table jolted and, since Rose was very tiny, she flew into the air. She flapped her shimmering wings took keep from landing on her rear. "Goodness," she said, really not getting what all the fuss was about.
"Maybe I'll take a look around?" She decided that it was a good idea, and flew in circles, though no one seemed to notice.
She gulped at the thought, humans do not believe in fairies. Yes, it shocked her. How could ANYONE not believe in fairies? She flew in front of a crooked nosed woman, steadily looking her in the eye and it was as if she were invisible... Maybe the woman had more important things to do than pay attention to her?
So Rose moved on, turning her attention then to what everyone seemed to be pointing at. A large stage where a few people were standing. "Oh! How dreadful!" she said, noticing that they were all in chains. They all seemed so sad, she couldn't understand what could possibly make them seem so sad. Although, at the moment she did not entirely understand the situation.
Amidst the commotion Rose thought she saw a small figure standing behind a few of the adults. Could it be? Or did her eyes decieve her. Was that really a child? She flew forward some more, dodging the fast moving men and women as they went to collect what they had bought. "Hello!" her tiny voice said, though no one was sure to hear her over the loud commotion of the auction room.
