Heirot's Gods and Deities

Below are descriptions of Heirot’s current deities.  Your character need not be religious, but it’s useful to know their names for roleplaying purposes.  Deities are special non-player characters, and with rare exception, can not be killed or manipulated by player characters.  If you’d like a deity to be involved in your adventure, please PM an administrator.

Verin, God of Darkness

Some call him "my lord" and others call him "Father", but though he’s had many names over the ages, his title remains forever the God of Darkness. He is the ruler of everything impure... everything evil. He constantly hungers for the souls of all living creatures, loving suffering, death, and destruction. His one and only offspring was Shea's mother, making Shea his grandchild. She often calls him father, leading almost everyone to believe she is his daughter.  Verin has many forms, human, shadow... demon. He can become anything he wishes to get his point across.

Thar, God of Light

The God of Light, Thar, the ancient word for good is known throughout Ighten. He is worshiped for his kindness and protection, but so far has had no hand in the war between the Queens. Sinead, unlike Shea, is not the product of a sorceress and a god. But, even if she was his daughter, he probably wouldn't interfere with the mortals’ useless war. He deals solely with Verin himself and Verin's closest minions.

Atara, Goddess of Nature

The Goddess of Nature is one of beauty and filled with kindness....but she is reclusive, choosing to watch things from a distance if you will. Atara is her name, which means mother in ancient elvish. The earth is her child and she curses anyone who abuses it with the machines of the slowly evolving world. She hates Shea for what she has done to Arken’s terrain. The forests are dying and the ground has become tainted with evil. Ighten, on the other hand, is her pride and joy, with its lush forests and graceful grassy hills. Ongoreth is also cherished for its beauty. She watches over the land and the people who worship her. The elves pray and worship her, asking for her blessings upon them. She is friends with the unicorns and the fairies, reclusive beautiful creatures like herself. You will hardly ever see her except for some matter of great importance. She takes the form of any natural creature she chooses when it is necessary.

Kanshisha-sama, Ongorethian Dragon God

The Dragon God is not the God of a moral alignment or landscape, but of a people. He covers all the needs of all the people of Ongoreth, standing for justice and honor, peace and protection, but when the time calls for it he can be ruthless, as most gods, with his punishment. Kanshisha-sama is his name, meaning Guardian in the Ongorethian language (Japanese). He is worshiped and asked to bring wealth and prosperity to the people of Ongoreth. He brings strength and power to the rulers and warriors and guidance to the priests. He is a proud God who fears nothing, and takes the form of a golden dragon on the rare occasions where he manifests himself.

Solanos, God of Death

Solanos is the God of Death. Not many worship him, but his job is to take the dead to Verin or to Thar. Solanos is known as the dark cloud or the hooded figure who stills the souls of the dying or the dead and sweeps them away. Often he has been challenged for the soul of a loved one, and once or twice in history, the challenger has succeeded.  However, when he wins he goes to Verin with an extra soul. Solanos and Verin are good buddies, both find the torment of a soul amusing, so it’s no wonder that they team up with each other against Thar. But, Solanos is the weakest of the gods, since hardly anyone worships him.
